Annapurna Region Trekking is a world class trekking trail. No wonder it is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the world and the most visited trekking region in Nepal.
At the heart of Annapurna Region lies the Annapurna Conservation Area. The area is one of the well preserved and well maintained ecological and cultural hotspots in the world. The culture of Thakali people along the Kali Gandaki Valley and the eternally majestic peaks of Annapurna Ranges are the magnetic attractions of this region. The Annapurna Region is surrounded by many Himalayan ranges which include the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre or the famous fish-tail mountain that dominates the skyline above Pokhara.
The Annapurna trek takes you to terraced hillsides, picturesque villages and orchid & rhododendron forests, through sweeping fields, verdant forests, hot springs and some of the wild glacial areas all with the constant backdrop of the magnificent Himalaya. The lakeside town of Pokhara is Nepal’s prettiest and most relaxing town.
In terms of grading, Annapurna Trek is a moderate trek with options for both tea-house and/or camping. There is no age restriction for this trekking and no criteria for physical fitness. Which means that travelers of any age and physical condition can trek Annapurna. Annapurna trek is easily accessible from Pokhara, lodges in the hills are plentiful, and trails here offer tremendous potential for scenic walks and for alpine exploration in a splendid high Himalayan setting.
Annapurna Trekking can be undertaken at different times and duration. There are both long and short itineraries available, depending on one’s time, physical fitness and interests.
